About Us

In 2004Lewisham Council announced plans to demolish Ladywell Leisure Centre in 2007 - we saved it! The pool will stay open until the forecast replacement is ready.  Sadly the plan is awfully inadequate and instead of being a plan for a community sport and leisure centre it is a plan for a lifestyle pool for the new residential developments to be built in front of Lewisham Station.

Lewisham third borough from the bottom for swimming

Yes, it's official.

In a parliamentary answer to Sarah Teather MP, Richard Caborn MP, Ministry of State for Sport and Tourism gives a detailed statistics about swimming provision in London divided by Borough.

And where is Lewisham?

It's 31st!

Only Hackney and Brent managed to do any worse.

But don't worry. There's Steve now. And thanks to his super powers he'll soon destroy the Ladywell Leisure Centre making Lewisham the worst borough in London for swimming.
