About Us

In 2004Lewisham Council announced plans to demolish Ladywell Leisure Centre in 2007 - we saved it! The pool will stay open until the forecast replacement is ready.  Sadly the plan is awfully inadequate and instead of being a plan for a community sport and leisure centre it is a plan for a lifestyle pool for the new residential developments to be built in front of Lewisham Station.

People's Day 2005


We went back to where it all started.

It was one year ago that we booked a room, printed 1000 leaflets and went around People's Day - Lewisham's annual community fair - to tell everyone to turn up at our first public meeting to start campaigning.

At this year's People's Day we had our campaign stall.

We collected 800 signatures and spoke with scores of people.

And we received one message over and over again.

Keep up the good work, we need to keep our pool.
