About Us

In 2004Lewisham Council announced plans to demolish Ladywell Leisure Centre in 2007 - we saved it! The pool will stay open until the forecast replacement is ready.  Sadly the plan is awfully inadequate and instead of being a plan for a community sport and leisure centre it is a plan for a lifestyle pool for the new residential developments to be built in front of Lewisham Station.

Points of view

We wanted to write something more about the motion voted at last Wednesday's Council Meeting, but two Councillors already did it.

Cllr Andrew Milton, Libdem Councillor for Lewisham Central that on Wednesday delivered our petition wrote his report here.

Cllr Dave Bodimeade, Labour Councillor for Lewisham Central, gives us instead the governing party message.

As for the 570 signatures (collected in 5 days) asking Cllr Katy Donnelly to either read the papers before speaking or resign, they were received and carefully ignored.

Cllr Katy Donnelly later in the meeting, still untainted by the content of the papers she commented on, even repeated her misinforming message.

Just another display of the arrogance of a Cabinet that has completely lost touch with his electorate and can't help but dismiss every criticism with yet another dose of contempt for the public that voted them in. ...read more...
