Last edition of Private Eye had in its Rotten Borough page this piece on Lewisham Council, our campaign and the consultation on Lewisham Bridge Primary School.
At a meeting organised by Lewisham Council with parents of Lewisham Bridge Primary and local residents, the public spontaneously tabled a vote that passed unanimously stating that they did not support the current proposal of building the New Secondary School there but proposed that the Council should bring back into use old Ennersdale Primary that lies empty after the Council closed it saying that it was a failing school and unsuccessfully tried to use the land to expand Northbrook CoE Secondary School as part of the Building Schools for the Future program.
Now even readers of Private Eye know that parents and residents oppose this and voted for an alternative policy.
Apparently this proposal didn't leave a trace in the official report of the meeting. So Mayor Steve Bullock is now left as the only one in Britain to ignore it.
