For smokers the eternal real question is how to stop smoking, many have tried the nicotine patch and drugs but more and more are embracing hypnosis once they realise that it’s safe and effective.

Watching television can give you the sense that hypnotist is a person with magical powers. Seemingly these practitioners can instantly have us do their bidding. Many people fear that they’ll have to act foolishly or even that they will make a move dangerous or criminal.

If you’re contemplating hypnosis to stop smoking a good thing you can do is disregard the television and certainly ignore friends and others who’ve heard stories someone complain about, that somebody else might know, who may or may not have visited a hypnotherapist.

Hypnosis is protected since it is not easy to do anything whatsoever you won’t want to do. No one can make you do anything whatsoever that you are not prepared to do, that includes quitting smoking. Many parents and partners have asked me to assist their child or partner, but unless they are prepared to quit for themselves then there’s nothing I can do.

Additionally, it means that I cant make sure they are dance like a chicken or run naked with the streets. As entertaining as it may be for therapists to have that power it simply isn’t possible.

Hypnosis is effective since it attacks the real trouble with smoking. Not nicotine addiction however the emotional link between smoking and stress and habits like coffee, alcohol driving etc.

Hypnosis allows new positive suggestions to enter your subconscious and replace those old useless beliefs that smoking holds some benefit for you personally.

The fact is that hypnotherapy is an extremely safe and straightforward process. It just requires a few things.

1. The person must be ready and committed to quitting. It’s no good quitting simply to please another person.

2. The smoker must be willing to take part in hypnosis. Any fear or concerns should be addressed prior to the session. Once a person is comfortable they can successfully proceed

3. The smoker should be prepared to ignore telephone calls along with other matters throughout the session. It’s a question of priorities. If you cannot turn the telephone off then you may have to question your need to quit.

4. Then just relax and permit the suggestions to flow to your subconscious and free you forever in the deadly habit of smoking.

As a smoker it is highly likely that you have tried nicotine patches. For almost all you it didn’t work. The reason is simple, quitting smoking is only partially about nicotine so counting on patches isn’t likely to be very successful.

I know smokers who can have 2 or 3 patches on and are still smoking. If they’re asked to explain why they still want to smoke using their brain filled with nicotine they are confused and don’t have an answer. Three patches is the equal of about 250 low tar cigarettes. That is a ridiculous quantity of nicotine, yet many smokers still need to light up.

It is no surprise people have nightmares or insomnia if they try and sleep with the patches on.

The fact is that running out of energy successfully stop smoking using hypnosis because nicotine is not the primary problem. It comes down to the emotional and mental connections, it’s these connections that keep you smoking and it is the connections that will attempt to drag you back to cigarettes later on unless you severe the tentacles’ which connect you to definitely them.

Why did nicotine patches become very popular. Because it is the main drug compound in tobacco. It was noted early on that cigarettes were addictive so it was assumed that nicotine was the entire problem.

Governments boosted the idea by recommending patches be used in quit programmes. Government quit policies are like a huge ocean liner, once submitted a direction they are very difficult to stop or change.

Nicotine comes with a role to experience. Clinically we have seen about 5% of people that need nicotine patches in an effort to support hypnosis. This type of person believed to convey more nicotine receptors on their cells. This means they have a stronger reaction to nicotine.

One Australian academic believes that the serious smokers can never be without patches. We’ve not found this to become the situation. It is an interesting fact of health that practitioners tend to learn what they feel in.

In my opinion that many people don’t need nicotine to stop smoking and that is what we find clinically. For those who have really struggled in the past to stop then there are three very important things you can do.

1. Use advanced clinical hypnosis to interrupt the mental bonds of smoking and for that reason eliminate cravings.

2. Use stress management techniques to prevent coming back to smoking when stressed.

3. Use nicotine patches to help you get through any tough times

Are you struggling to figure out how you can quit cigarette smoking? Riding the quit smoking merry-go-round when i like to refer to it as. It truly is no fun though. It is going something like this:

You believe; “Gee I think I’ll quit smoking.”
Feeble attempt for stopping smoking begins
Some short period of time passes (perhaps a day, maybe a week, possibly even an entire month)
Something transpires with trigger your urge to smoke (could be good, might be bad)
You start smoking again
Some period of time passes that you are smoking again
You think; “Gee I believe I’ll quit smoking.”
Etc, etc, etc…….

Problem? Well don’t feel alone I have been there too; riding the old stop smoking merry-go-round, I actually rode it for years. But I wish to help you get off that ride. The business of trying being an ex-smoker could be frustrating, challenging, maddening, call it anything you like. Home theater system . would like to refer to it as done and over with. I think I’m able to help you to get from smoker to ex-smoker if you produce an opportunity.

The thing is, there is a method to quit smoking cigarettes for good. Once you know the correct technique stopping smoking actually becomes quite easy. This technique isn’t well known but it is becoming a lot more common as word of their effectiveness is spreading. The strategy I am speaking of is NLP, or Neuro Linguistic Programming.

NLP is a powerful type of hypnotherapy that has proven to be wildly successful at helping smokers to finally kick their smoking for good. NLP uses modern technology to consider hypnotherapy from the therapist’s office and directly into your own home.

NLP is really a mixture of modern technology and classic hypnotherapy. The mixture of these two makes for a powerful quitting smoking method that targets and removes the cravings to smoke from your subconscious. Hypnotherapy by itself is an efficient method to stop smoking. But is doesn’t work for everybody and it can be difficult to find an expert hypnotherapist in your area. And even if you do it takes a particular level of trust to allow someone place you into a trance.

But with NLP you won’t ever even have to leave your home. All you have to do is listen to a specially formatted recording to achieve the cravings to smoke just melt away. Once the mental cravings to smoke are removed, the remainder is easy; you will no longer feel a need to smoke at all. If you wish to know how to quit cigarette smoking then NLP may be the answer for you to easily and permanently quit smoking.

Every smoker is familiar with those special times during the the day once they just take a few minutes to wind down and relax and also have a cigarette. Throughout the morning, at lunch or perhaps in the evening having a drink. So why should only smokers get these special moments! I call these special moments mental health breathing breaks.

In lots of work places in the past smokers would have a regular break. In Australia the short breaks are even called Smoko. Non-smokers typically didn’t take these breaks and were normally a little annoyed by these breaks the smokers had.

Sometime ago I had been even told to return to act as I didn’t smoke so I shouldn’t take a rest. Nowadays smoking is extremely antisocial and it is not so simple to have these special smoking moments.

But nonetheless the smoker will discover a few minute to escape at lunch etc and gather their thoughts while flooding their brain with toxic chemicals.

Whenever you quit I highly recommend that you simply create these short mental health breathing breaks. It’s so tempting to have a coffee while still working, buts it’s much better for your creativity and effectiveness to snap minutes to simply stare into space or look at something pleasant like a tree or perhaps a garden or perhaps a travel poster.

Years ago I had some friends who have been doctors and nurses inside a hospital, they would occasionally have a day off, that they called their mental health day. So instead of waiting to become sick they used preventative medicine to consider each day in some places to allow their brains and immune systems recharge.

10 Tips For taking mental health breathing breaks

1. Close your eyes around the bus or train instead of read the newspaper.

2. Sit on a park bench and feed the birds

3. Have a slow walk at lunchtime

4. towards the bathroom and merely sit and relax

5. De-focus your eyes for a minute or so while pretending to become reading a computer screen

6. Do Thirty seconds of deep breathing

7. Let break time conversation float past you while not having to participate.

8. In the home office leave behind the computer and do some gentle stretches, stare the window or take a seat on your deck having a coffee.

9. Question the value of just powering on with no break, Do you really achieve more? After all if you had 5 one minute mental health breaks would you be ahead or behind at the end of your day. If you are really anal regarding your time just work A few minutes longer

10. Because the bumper sticker says, Be sure to breathe.

And there must be some solution to this problem. If the huge computer can be made to work in low power available then we can managed the energy saving and bring a revolution in the world.

After some research we found that Low Power PC has been introduced by some people around the world and has been a great success.

Most smokers will say, “You should tell me how to stop smoking and not why should I quit.” There is no best time and right way to quit smoking. If you are planning to quit smoking, below is a guide on how to stop smoking:

1) Make a clear decision that you are quitting. You are the only who can decide for yourself if you want to quit. You must be willing to quit smoking and no one should be forcing you to do it. Think for reasons why you want to stop smoking. Here are probable reasons:

a. You are worried to acquire different kinds of health problems such as heart diseases, diabetes and cancers.

b. The health of your family members is at risk as well.

c. There are more benefits of not smoking than smoking.

2) You need to make a plan in your goal of quitting. Set a quick date. It is important that you set a date when you plan to start. Make sure that the date you will choose will not be next month: the sooner the better. If you chose a date too far, you are giving yourself room to change your mind or rationalize everything.

3) Ready your list of activities to do in case you feel like smoking. Your list could include the following:

a. Involve into sports like swimming, badminton or volleyball.

b. Plan an adventure getaway with your family.

c. Play with your dog.

d. Cook a sumptuous meal.

e. Watch a movie.

f. Eat your favorite fruit.

g. Wash your car.

4) Prepare yourself for the “quit day.” Here are some suggested things to do to prepare for your quit day.

a. Choose a date and then mark it on your planner.

b. Announce to your family, friends and relatives about your plan.

c. Remove all smoking accessories such as ashtrays, lighter and of course cigarettes in your work, home or car.

d. Gradually reduce puffing cigarettes. If you puff five times a day, you can start decreasing it to four or three times a day.

e. Buy oral substitutes such as chewing gum, candies, chocolates, carrot sticks, coffee stirrers, toothpicks, straws and cinnamon sticks.

f. Practice saying, “Thank you, but I do not smoke.”

g. Have a support system. There are available group programs of smokers who want to be non-smokers. There are also organizations that are willing to help you cope with your decision to quit smoking.

h. If you have attempted a number of times to quit smoking, analyze why you were not successful. List down the possible reasons. Then, think of solutions on how to avoid it from happening again.

It is unfortunate that by 2025, 100 million people will have died because of smoking, and a large percentage of them will be young people.

It is unfortunate that by 2025, 100 million people will have died because of smoking, and a large percentage of them will be young people. It is estimated that the number of smokers around the world is 1,100,000,000 and 3.5 million of them die every year (10,000 a day), because of this habit.

Just take a look at what smoking can do to your health:

It is a common cause of blindness. Studies that included 12,468 patients found that more than 25% of cases of macular degeneration are caused by the smoke of cigarettes. Those who have managed to stop, drastically reduce the risk of blindness.
It affects the fertility of both men and women, reduces the chances of conception and has a negative effect on the development of the fetus. Passive smoking is associated with the sudden infant death syndrome, premature birth, respiratory diseases in childhood and the onset of childhood asthma.
It is the leading cause of cancer, especially if you are a woman.
It causes memory loss. Some surveys have demonstrated that smokers suffer from up to 20% less brain function and loss of intelligence. The loss of memory in smokers may be due to the increased blood pressure caused by smoking, which impairs the blood flow to the brain. This may lead to the reduced supply of nutrients and cause problems in long-term memory.

The benefits of quitting begin to appear immediately after you stop smoking:

Better Health. (The lungs begin cleansing themselves, which leads to increased vitality and endurance). Also the risk of cardiovascular disease decreases by 50% in just one year after quitting, whereas ten years after, the risk of lung cancer is reduced to the levels of those who have never smoked. You can reduce the risk of: impotence, fertility problems, psoriasis, gum disease and osteoporosis.
Longevity
Money saving. You may save well over $1000 per year.
Foods and drinks will taste much better.
You will enjoy a younger looking skin. Stopping this harmful habit can slow facial aging and delay the appearance of wrinkles, because your skin will get more nutrients and oxygen.

How to quit smoking:

Drink as much water as you can, because it may reduce your desire for a cigarette.
Brush your teeth frequently and thoroughly to get rid of the taste of smoke that may fuel your desire for cigarettes.
If you are afraid that when you quit smoking you will gain weight, start an exercise program and try to improve the quality of your diet.
Every time you feel like having a cigarette, get up immediately and do something. Just find an activity that will keep you busy for the next five minutes, until the temptation is gone.
Fill you refrigerator will healthy snacks like carrots and chew on them every time you feel like smoking. It will be quite difficult to quit if you don’t have a substitute!

After years of smoking, smokers are conditioned to light a cigarette to smoke for everything that happens. They smoke when they are happy, they smoke when they are stressed out or even angry, and they smoke to stay awake. Those folks even smoke when they are hungry.

The list goes on and there can be many reasons to why people smoke. Often, people associate reasons to smoke with pleasure or a justification. The reasons seemed to be “right” to smoke all the time. Thus, to successfully quit smoking, there is a need to break down the reasons to why we smoke and approach and examine each reason carefully.

Let’s take a look at the top reasons to people smoke:

Hunger

Sometimes, smokers tend to smoke to reduce their appetite for food. It’s really funny how people think of smoking as a substitute for food. Not only it is not healthy, it is highly impractical. So start by disciplining to eat properly and regularly. Should you be hungry in between, think of a snack and if you’re worried about the calories, try some healthy alternatives like celery sticks, broccoli or fruits as snacks. Don’t be too caught up with the idea of losing weight. You should put your goal of quitting smoking as a priority. Your weight can be dealt on later.

Anger

This is probably the most common excuse for people to smoke, as they view smoking as a stress reliever. Truth is as humans, we can take more stress than we think we can. Think for a moment, what will non-smokers do to release stress?

One of the effective ways is to prevent and handle stress better. This can be done by exercising and having good rest. As a result, you will have more energy to handle situations and circumstances on a more positive note instead of smoking.

Another way is to learn some immediate stress release techniques such as breathing exercises or drinking lots of water.

Loneliness

As much as you hate to admit it, loneliness is also why you smoke. Most smokers do not know but they have made smoking their companion, in times of boredom. You can overcome this by packing your schedule with activities. The money you save from cigarettes can be used to fund those activities. Not only is it going to help you overcome this area of smoking, but also help your mental and emotional state of mind.

Tiredness

Feeling tired can be a reason to quickly light up a cigarette. So imagine for awhile. Your body is telling you that it needs rest and you reject its request by injecting toxic and chemicals into it. Can you see that you are killing yourself in the long run? Apart from that, smoking also causes the lack of oxygen in your brain and body… which will lead to even more tiredness eventually. Curb this by having proper sleep and rest habits.

Learning to smoke cigarettes was the hardest and most miserable task you undertook when you were young! Smoking cigarettes was something that you had to learn to do. Learning to smoke took some persistence and putting up with the misery of coughing and hacking after every pull on a cigarette. What were you mastering? Because smoking the cigarette is the end to a means. That ends to a means is to satisfy a physical craving, calm your nerves, keep you from eating, whatever reason you use to justify the smoking. It is really the mechanism, the suppression of the body’s defensives, that the smoker has spent so much time creating that allows for them and now causes the smoker to experience the urge to smoke.
